The Lion Man

My initial take on the statue was that it looked like a bear. This would make sense given the bear symbolism and legends that are found in Germany.

Looking at the face, I would say it could also be a werewolf or possibly a werebear hybrid of some kind. Stories of werewolves can also be found in Germany (the last being the Werewolf of Morbach).
