Papal Ferula

With the rod above, I can see similarities to the stang of traditional witchcraft. While with the rod below I see a hint of the downward-pointing crescent but mainly it appears that Jesus is hanging from a sword.

In 2019, the pope was accused of heresy as others noticed his pastoral staff looked like a stang. The iron nail seems to be going through the knees of a figure if it is the stang shape and while the nub could be seen as Jesus hanging from the cross, it could also be the male “nub” of the horned god represented in the male witch staff.

The “log” as “Elena” put it also carved into what looks like limb bones.
